Ambulance Dispatcher

Ambulance Dispatcher

Duties and Responsibilities: Works under the direction of the Director of Communications or Dispatch Supervisor. Assist with answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls.

Salary: A typical Emergency Dispatcher in the United States is $34,863 so 50% of the people who perform the job of Emergency Dispatcher in the United Sates are expected to make less than $34,863.

Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent to a high school graduate. The minimum dispatch experience one could have is 6 months.
·         Prefer Ohio certified EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, EMD or related medical experience and terminology

Reflection: I would not like to be an ambulance dispatcher because all you do is answer phone calls. Yes they are emergency phone calls but I see no interest in sitting all day at work. It seems like a boring job in which you will get tired of doing the same thing over and over again.
